NAIDOC 2024: Education Resources
The official National NAIDOC Education Resources for 2024, were created in partnership with ABC Education under the guidance of Wiradjuri and Gamilaroi woman Aunty (Dr) Lynette Riley AO.
The 2024 theme is "Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud".
The National NAIDOC Committee selected this theme to celebrate not only the survival but also the relentless spirit of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The theme also celebrates the enduring strength of First Nations culture and offers teachers a chance to explore various topics, perspectives and experiences with students.
These Educational Resources can be used to obtain foundational knowledge about National NAIDOC Week, the history of themes since 1972, and the focus cities for the National NAIDOC Awards.
The teaching ideas developed by the National NAIDOC Committee directly support teachers in addressing The Australian Curriculum: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Culture cross-curriculum priority. Content can be used across multiple learning areas and stages/grades from Foundational Studies to Year 12. The material on this site may also be relevant to VET and University students undertaking Indigenous Studies.
Culture is Life's Aboriginal educators have purposely selected stories and activities that reflect this year's theme and the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
